Ryan Reynolds Battles A Freaky Alien Plant Thing In First Life Trailer

Maybe discovering life on Mars isn't all it’s cracked up to be

Ryan Reynolds came to Mars to have a good time and is honestly feeling so attacked right now.

On Sunday (October 30), the terrifying first trailer for Life, Reynolds’s new film about Mars exploration and the possibility of life on the planet, dropped, and it looks so terrifying, Reynolds is gonna wish he actually possessed Deadpool’s healing factor. With chatter about humans venturing to Mars to potentially colonize it in the not-so-distant future, this film comes at exactly the right time.

Of course, the “life” Reynolds’s international space crew find in the film isn’t interested in being friends, as evidenced by Ariyon Bakare being attacked while the rest of the squad watches in horror. The film gives off a Prometheus-meets-The Thing vibe, and Reynolds, Bakare, and Jake Gyllenhaal really better watch their backs. Check out the freaky trailer below.

Life is slated to hit theaters May 26, 2017.
