Wonder Woman Aches For Home In This Exclusive 75th Anniversary Special Preview

MTV News has your first look at Liam Sharp’s stunning Wonder Woman story, ‘Oh, Themyscira’

In honor of Wonder Woman’s 75th anniversary, DC Comics has rounded up the biggest names in comics for a colorful tribute to Princess Diana of Themyscira with Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary Special #1. The oversize, 80-page book doesn’t hit shelves until Wednesday, October 26, but MTV News has an exclusive first look at one of the many stories you can expect from the anniversary special.

Written and illustrated by Liam Sharp — one of the artists of Greg Rucka’s current Wonder Woman: Rebirth series — “Oh, Themyscira” is a sentimental ode to Diana’s homeland with detailed line work, lush scenery, and beautiful coloring from Romulo Fajardo Jr. Sharp’s interest in the mythology is on full display here, as the iconography that’s associated with the goddess Diana — the moon and the boar, particularly — illustrates how Diana’s heart aches for home.

Here’s a look at a brand-new illustration from artists Phil Jimenez and Fajardo Jr. The art is a beautiful tribute to Wonder Woman’s evolution through the years.
