Less than a week after telling Maxim that she’s “not going to change herself for anyone else,” Bella Thorne has told Playboy, “I’m not going to change for anybody else.” You know, just in case the message didn’t come across clearly the first time around.
The 19-year-old has made her debut in the revamped men’s magazine with a write-up in its monthly “No Filter” series and a retro-inspired photoshoot. In one pic, she tributes David Bowie by wearing a red bomber jacket with the late star’s name stitched on the back.
In the accompanying interview, Thorne has some choice words for her social media haters: namely, “fuck off.”
“People are constantly trying to change me, every second of the day, especially on social media,” she said. “People like to comment on how my image is too edgy, that I’m too edgy, and on how they wish I looked. It’s a lot of ‘do this, don’t do that.’ To them I say, fuck off.”
The former Disney star — who’s unabashedly open about her sexuality — further vows she’ll never cede to slut-shamers who try to stifle her sexiness.
“There’s this effort to try to shame a woman’s sexiness by pulling a cover over it, but I’m a woman who loves skin,” she says. “I love skin on me, I love skin on girls, I love skin on guys. If you’re confident enough to show off your body, you should. Be confident. It can be difficult to get yourself to focus on you all the time, especially when you’re trying to transition into who you really are, but I’m not going to change for anybody else. I love staying true to me.”
Got the message now?!?!
