Troy may have been with Gabriella in the High School Musical franchise, but tons of fans really wanted Troy to end up with Sharpay. Alas, that wasn’t how the story was meant to be, but thankfully Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale are making Troypay IRL happen for fans everywhere.

On Monday (October 18), Tisdale celebrated Efron’s 29th birthday by sharing an adorable throwback pic on Twitter. Hours later, Efron replied with the sweetest comment, and people were SHOOK.

Naturally, the Troypay emotions quickly resurfaced for fans. They responded to the exchange with, “The 2006 feels!!!,” “*INTERNALLY SCREAMING*,” and crying GIFs. The first High School Musical film turned 10 back in January, but several of the cast members are seriously making 2016 the new 2006.

For starters, Efron, Corbin Bleu, and Lucas Grabeel recently reunited to watch Bleu perform in Broadway’s Holiday Inn. Tisdale repped a shirt Sharpay would be proud to wear, and Bart Johnson (Coach Jack Bolton) reenacted his famous “WHAT TEAM” moment for a bunch of excited fans. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.
