Can someone check on Adele? She’s probably freaking out in a fit of joy since one of her favorite artists ever cracked a goofy joke about her.

In a Q&A with The Guardian, Melanie Chisolm — a.k.a. Mel C, or Sporty Spice — answered 20 questions, and they covered everything from Madonna (apparently she leaned over Madge at a party while asking for a friend’s car keys and didn’t realize it until after the fact) to the dashed dreams of a Spice Girls reunion.

Late this summer, Chisolm published an essay that explained exactly why she wasn’t participating in one despite the interest of the other members of the group and their fans. Now, she’s owning her role in getting the group back together, and she’s officially saying sorry to the rest of the girls and Spice World at large — and she’s also cracking some goofy jokes about Britain’s reigning pop force in the process.

When asked if she’d like to say sorry to anyone, Chisolm brought up the reunion, and said she wants to apologize to her former bandmates: “Mel B, Geri and Emma – who wanted to mark our 20th anniversary, and the fans. It was not something I felt comfortable doing.” Both Victoria Beckham and Chisolm have backed out of the possibility of celebrating the anniversary of the group’s 1996 debut, while Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) are moving forward with a reunion as GEM.

She closed with the Adele chuckle when she was asked to tell a joke. Her comedic triumph: “Q: Why did Adele cross the road? A: To say, ‘Hello from the other side.’”
