Big Sean And 2 Chainz Gave A Master Class In Boss Behavior

‘Light It Up’ is your lesson

If history has taught us anything, it’s that Big Sean + 2 Chainz = killer combo. They’ve proven it time and time again, stretching all the way back to the 2012 G.O.O.D. Music posse cut “Mercy,” and now they’re back with another ace collab.

This time, Sean Don and Tity Boi bond over their hustle on “Light It Up.” Sean brings the heat first with plenty of clever wordplay and warnings about “being at the top of your threat list.” "Always reppin’, but I’m hardly home / Sean Don, Perignon, Don Corleone / Hit the vroom vroom every single time the ’Rari on / Ridin’ around in Malibu tryna to see if Barbie home,” he raps at lightning speed, before launching into the energetic hook. 2 Chainz, never one to disappoint, handles the second verse with even more braggadocio: “If I put my jewelry on, the light bill increase.”

“Light It Up” appears on the original soundtrack for Kevin Hart’s new stand-up comedy movie, Kevin Hart: What Now?. The project doubles as the first mixtape from Hart’s rap alter ego, Chocolate Droppa, and features new tracks from Trey Songz, Chris Brown, T.I., Migos, Nick Jonas, Akon, and more.
