Zayn Malik’s autobiography doesn’t hit shelves until November 1, but in order to help us bide our time until then, the singer released an excerpt that gives us an idea of what to expect — namely, dirt on his One Direction days.

He writes:

[“Pillowtalk”] was a sick cut, nailing the exact sound I wanted to capture in my music. I was also able to sing about a subject that I hadn’t really been able to go near while I was in One Direction: sex.

Hmmm. OK. Zayn, we love you, but let’s be real here — 1D songs may not have been ~overtly~ about sex but, uh, the references were definitely there.

The "it" in this scenario could be her heart but, like, I don't think it is.

It seems like another round with the “Alive” therapist may be necessary.

I think we all know what “take it all the way” means.

Even on the first album, the guys were surprisingly flippant about telling a girl she’s the one.

“Touching” + “only me and you” + “can’t concentrate” = you get the drift.
