Chrissy Teigen giveth and Chrissy Teigen taketh. From now on, the Lip Sync Battle host’s brilliant tweets will be noticeably absent from the Twitterverse. She set her account to private Tuesday night (October 4), which means moving forward only people she approves will be able to follow her. (If you followed her before then, you’re all good!)
The decision came days after Kim Kardashian was robbed in Paris, a horrifying crime that some less-than-classy internet trolls joked about. “Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you’d make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets,” Teigen tweeted at the time.
After switching to private, Teigen wrote she was “not strong enough anymore” to deal with social media. “It’s not haters or trolls or generally mean people,” she clarified. “I just feel like I am absorbing bad shit 24/7. My body and mind cannot handle it anymore.”
This is why we can’t have nice things, you guys.
