Taylor Swift will kick off this year’s Super Bowl festivities by headlining the DirecTV Super Saturday Night concert the evening before the big game.
The singer announced a new deal with AT&T Tuesday (October 4), and the first event in their collaboration will come around February 4, 2017, the day before Lady Gaga takes the stage for the official Super Bowl halftime show.
To celebrate, Taylor posted a photo of her very own AT&T football jersey — emblazoned with her lucky number 13, naturally. She’s come a long way from being stuck on the bleachers.
So what exactly will she perform in February? It doesn’t seem especially likely that T.Swift will shape her set around songs from 1989, given that she played them at plenty of football stadiums on her last tour. It’s been two years since she last put out music, and this Super Saturday announcement seems a whole lot like another hint that something new is coming soon.
