Drake Becomes A Hardened Criminal In His New Short Film Please Forgive Me

The 21-minute drama was inspired by ‘Views’ and features new music from 40

Drake hasn’t acted this hard since Degrassi.

In his new short film, Please Forgive Me, the rapper squares off with a South African crime boss. He gets some help from his girlfriend, played by Fanny Neguesha, as well as Popcaan.

Please Forgive Me was directed by Anthony Mandler, who apparently got inspired enough by Views to make a film about Drake shooting guns and blowing stuff up. The short features music from Drake’s latest album, most prominently “Controlla” and “One Dance,” which both get just about full video treatments within the film’s 21-minute runtime.

There’s also some new instrumental music from Drake’s producer 40, a.k.a. Noah Shebib. Come for the unreleased beats, stay for the lingering shots of Drake looking morose in various high-stakes situations. Please Forgive Me is out now on Apple Music.
