The doors for Kanye West’s concert in Nashville opened just after dinnertime, but that didn’t keep him from making a nearly 500-mile detour to Chicago for a surprise afternoon appearance and performance at Chance The Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring Day on September 24.
Chance sold out Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field, and the crowd made Kanye stop in his tracks for a minute just to soak it all in while he and Chance were working their way through the heavens-reaching verses of "Ultralight Beam."
The lineup was already stacked for the one-day bonanza, with Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, John Legend, Skrillex, and more packing the schedule, but members of the MCD crew couldn't help but take in the impromptu collab from the side of the stage as Tyler, The Creator is seen doing in the clip above.
It's kind of a huge thing to throw a massive event like MCD and have your idol come out and not only attend, but perform — especially when he's got a show of his own a few states away! That's love right there, but it makes sense considering how Kanye thinks Chance is "the future" and all.
