Miley Cyrus Reveals The Main Reason She Quit Red Carpets

The Voice star has a very specific beef with photographers

If you must blame someone, blame the paparazzi for Miley Cyrus saying bye, bye, bye to red carpets for the foreseeable future. Her last appearance was at the A Very Murray Christmas premiere in December 2015. In her recent Elle cover story, she swore off carpets for good.

Why? She was tired of photographers "yelling" at her to blow them a kiss.

"I don't feel like blowing you a kiss," Cyrus explained on Friday morning's (September 16) Today show. "It's like, what is going on? Why? Who are you?"

The scrutiny of red carpet fashion also irritates Cyrus: "You're just putting yourself out there for people to talk about. I don't want people to really talk about what I'm wearing. That's usually why I don't wear too much."

"But now they make me wear clothes on The Voice," she joked. Cyrus is coaching Season 11, which kicks off Monday, alongside Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. So even though she's said good-bye to red carpets, you can still catch her on your small screen.
