Justin Timberlake And Anna Kendrick Can’t Stop The Feelings With ‘True Colors’

Listen to their acoustic take on Cyndi Lauper's '80s classic

It's definitely a swift mood change from the adrenaline-pumping "Can't Stop the Feeling," but Justin Timberlake's latest addition to the Trolls soundtrack is an emotional detour worth taking.

With his co-star Anna Kendrick, Timberlake gives Cyndi Lauper's 1986 single an acoustic make-under, which showcases the strength of their duetting vocals in an approachable, gorgeous way.

If "Can't Stop the Feeling" is an enthusiastic introduction to Trolls or the ideal soundtrack for a party scene involving its rainbow-haired characters, consider "True Colors" the perfect fit for a deep moment that requires a step away from the fun times for a little animated introspection. In short, it's a welcome listen to the more serious side of Timberlake and Kendrick, and it makes Trolls sound less like a kids' movie and more like a cartoon that adults can enjoy, if only for its earworms.

Trolls hits theaters November 4.
