Miley Cyrus Will Never Step Foot On A Red Carpet Again

It was fun while it lasted

Miley Cyrus was once a permanent fixture on newsstands, but she's been keeping a remarkably low profile. Her last magazine cover was in December. That's about to change, thanks to Elle magazine, which convinced the singer/activist/Voice judge to cover the October issue.

The article reveals that Miley's newfound discretion is the result of a few things — she fired her publicist, for one, and has been using Instagram to communicate with fans. Most notably, Miley said she has no plans to return to the red carpet. Any red carpet. Ever.

After casually mentioning her red carpet retirement in an Instagram caption, Miley confirmed the decision in the magazine, saying:

[A year ago] I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again. Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that's red? Because I'm 'important'? Because I'm 'famous'? That's not how I roll. It's like a skit—it's like Zoolander.

One red thing she has no aversion to? Those judges' chairs on The Voice. Phew.
