Fortunately, CR Fashion Book is rectifying that, by putting her on the cover of Issue 9 dressed as the modern-day version of another iconic queen — Marie Antoinette, ever heard of her?
The entire issue is themed around the infamous monarch, with Rihanna on the cover in a corset and the boning of a hoop skirt. Why is Rihanna on the cover of a Marie Antoinette–themed magazine, you ask? I'll allow Carine Roitfeld — you know, the woman who lends her initials to CR Fashion Book — explain.
She says, "On the cover is Rihanna, who shares with Marie Antoinette an air of royalty that I, and the world it seems, find intoxicating."
In another shot, Rihanna wears a Dior blazer and holds a boob. When you're a queen, you can do whatever you want.
