Sia And Maddie Ziegler’s Latest Video Will Make You Cry Rainbow Tears

Kendrick Lamar joins on for a guest verse on ‘The Greatest’

Sia and her dancing avatar Maddie Ziegler are an unstoppable team, and their latest video might be their most poignant one to date.

In the video for Sia’s new song “The Greatest,” Ziegler returns to that decrepit house she danced through in her breakout video for “Chandelier.” This time, though, she’s not alone.

Ziegler dances with dozens of other kids in the broken-down house as she leads them out of a jail cell and tries to escape her mysterious surroundings. The video begins and ends with a shot of Ziegler crying while wearing rainbow face paint, which may indicate that “The Greatest” is Sia’s response to the shooting in Orlando that claimed 49 lives at a gay club earlier this year.

Even out of context, “The Greatest” is another powerful anthem about refusing to give up. “I got stamina,” Sia repeats throughout the song.

In the version of the track that’s on Spotify, she’s joined by Kendrick Lamar, who follows up his feature on Beyoncé’s “Freedom” by lending Sia a quick guest verse.

Sia’s got stamina — and she has a whole roster of talented friends to help her carry out her vision.
