Disney’s 'First Kid' Is 20 Years Old And Its Stars Are Still Working Together

Though not in the film industry

Twenty years ago, Disney showed us what would happen if Sinbad were responsible for the president's son — and we were all the better for it. First Kid followed Luke Davenport (Brock Pierce) as he tested the patience of his newest Secret Service bodyguard, Sam Simms (Sinbad), and almost got himself kidnapped because he never learned the concept of "stranger danger." Eventually, Luke and Simms managed to stop butting heads, and Simms took the POTUS's son under his wing and protected him from school bully Rob MacArthur (Zachery Ty Bryan) and former Agent Woods (Timothy Busfield).

Though not a DCOM, the film repeatedly aired on Disney Channel during the '90s and early '00s. Pierce and Bryan, both big child actors — Pierce played Young Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks and D2: The Mighty Ducks, while Bryan was eldest son Brad Taylor on Home Improvement — seemed to have retired from acting to focus on other interests, which include bitcoins, apparently.

To celebrate the film's 20th anniversary, Bryan shared a pic on Instagram, tagging Pierce and captioning, "20 years ago... Wow — Now we're bitcoin partners. #changingthegame."

According to Pierce's LinkedIn profile, he's currently the chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, and the founder of both Blockchain Capital and IMI Exchange. Though Pierce and Bryan were enemies in First Kid, it's nice to see these two working together again — though a sequel of some kind wouldn't hurt, either. (Hint hint, wink wink, Disney.)
