11 Famous TV Shows You Didn’t Know Ashley Benson Was In

Not counting Pretty Little Liars

You probably know Ashley Benson as Hanna Marin from Pretty Little Liars, one of four girls whose lives are perpetually in danger thanks to someone named A — or Uber A, or whatever Freeform's calling it these days. But Benson's been hiding in the corners of your TV screen for years before ever stepping foot in Rosewood or nearby Ravenswood.

With the sad news that PLL is ending after Season 7 — ten more episodes to go! — let's revisit Benson's acting history. She's played such a wide cast of characters; who knows who'll come next after Hanna?

  1. Zoey 101

In Season 1's "Quinn's Date," a curious Quinn Pensky (Erin Sanders) decides to "study the romantic interaction between males and females" so that she can ask out her crush, Mark. Benson was Candace, one of the girls Quinn observes. [Note: Nickelodeon and MTV News are both owned by Viacom.]

  2. The West Wing

Twelve-year-old Benson was a rando girl on The West Wing's Season 4 episode "Game On." You might also recognize the girl standing in front of her as young Amy Bruckner, who went on to play Pim Diffy in Disney Channel's Phil of the Future.

  3. The O.C.

Three PLL stars had cameos in The O.C.: Benson, Lucy Hale, and Janel Parrish. Benson, then 16, played Riley, a so-called popular girl who was Kaitlin Cooper's (Willa Holland) frenemy in the Season 4 episode "The Summer Bummer."

  4. How I Met Your Mother

Benson played Carly, Barney Stinson's (Neil Patrick Harris) half-sister. Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) dated her for a hot second in Season 8, but things got complicated because of their massive age difference.

  5. Supernatural

In Season 4's "It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester," Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) tried to save Tracy Davis (Benson), a witch, from dying at the hands of her brother. She died anyway. Womp, womp.

  6. CSI: Miami

Like pretty much every actor ever, Benson had a stint on CSI as Amy Beck in the Season 7 episode "Bombshell." Her crime? Shoplifting clothes with her BFF, who mysteriously died because of their five-finger discount.

  7. 7th Heaven
    Warner Bros.

Benson played Margot, who briefly stole away Ruthie Camden's (Mackenzie Rosman) boyfriend in two Season 9 episodes, "Hungry" and "Tangled Web We Weaved." At first there's some jealousy and rivalry between the girls, but they end up calling a truce after Ruthie gets back together with her guy.

  8. Days of Our Lives

The character Abigail Deveraux was recast over the years, since she started as a baby on the show. Benson took over in 2004 to portray teenage Abby, replacing actresses Jillian Clare and Megan Corletto. Starting this fall, Marci Miller will play the role.

  9. Family Guy

Benson voiced the character Dakota in Season 12's "Brian's a Bad Father." Dakota is also voiced by Kaylee DeFer, the actress who used to play Ivy Dickens on Gossip Girl.

  10. 13 Going On 30

OK, so this isn't technically a TV show, but I HAD to include this gem. Benson and Oscar winner Brie Larson were part of the exclusive Six Chicks clique — basically the Plastics of Jenna Rink's (Jennifer Garner) junior high school. Clearly they're fans of the color pink as well.

  11. Christmas Cupid

Christmas Cupid wasn't a series either, but the TV movie aired on Freeform — then ABC Family — back in 2010. Benson starred as Caitlin Quinn, the ghost of Christmas past a famous actress. She comes back from the dead to haunt her PR person (Christina Milian) and reunite her with a lost love (Chad Michael Murray). December is peak cuffing season, after all.
