Now that Spidey is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s a friendly rivalry brewing between Thor and Spider-Man — and we’re all reaping its benefits on social media. Weeks after Chris Hemsworth posted a behind-the-scenes look at his stunt training on the Australia set of Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, one-upped the mighty Thor with his own stunt video — and this kid’s got serous Spidey skills.
But first, here’s Hemsworth’s noble first attempt, in which he kind of sort of nailed the landing:
Whereas Hemsworth was having a bit of trouble following his trainer Bobby Holland Hanton’s lead, Holland made spinning in midair look easy from the Atlanta set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The 20-year-old web-slinger can really fly:
OK, so maybe it’s a tad unfair to compare the two Marvel superheroes. After all, Holland has years of gymnastics training under his superhero utility belt. Just watch him nail this tumbling pass:
Thankfully, there’s zero bad blood between Thor and Spidey. It’s just a friendly cross-set competition. In fact, Hanton even sent his own (complicated) stunt challenge Holland’s way. “This is what you have to try next,” he captioned a video of a tricky-looking, off-the-wall gymnastics move. “I’ll teach it to you when I see you in Atlanta.” Something tells us Holland can pull this one off, no problem.
The ball is in your court, Hemsworth!
