Is Ellie Goulding our generation’s Soundtrack Queen? After contributing the romantic “Beating Heart” for Divergent and the even more doe-eyed “Love Me Like You Do” for Fifty Shades of Grey, she’s back with yet another cinematic love song.
On Thursday, Goulding debuted the video for “Still Falling For You,” her soaring ballad from the upcoming rom-com Bridget Jones’s Baby. The Tove Lo–written tune gets a simple but beautiful visual that features Goulding singing in front of a projector playing scenes from the film. As Renée Zellweger and Patrick Dempsey fawn over one another behind her, Goulding delivers an emotional performance that’s made even more dramatic by alternating lighting setups. You half-expect Goulding to break into her 2010 hit “Lights” at any moment, but — spoiler alert! — that doesn’t happen. Sorry.
“Still Falling For You” is available now, and Bridget Jones’s Baby hits theaters on September 16.
