The play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the newest addition to the magical franchise, officially opened in London last month, and unless you’ve been living under a rock all this time, you’ve probably heard of it. Or read it, or seen it, or stayed up all night to talk about it in painstaking detail. Either way, it’s at the forefront of Potterheads’ minds because, as it takes place 19 years after the events of the final book, it allows us see our favorite characters grow up and have kids of their own.
While the wizardry, magic, and elaborate special effects make up a large chunk of the story, that’s not what makes the play important or a must-see. In this latest behind-the-scenes clip, Alex Price, who plays Draco Malfoy, candidly explains why the production isn’t just for “escapism,” but for something much more.
