Britney Spears is back, and she's ready to take over the small screen. First, she's performing at Sunday night's (August 28) VMAs. Then filming begins for a Britney-inspired Lifetime TV movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Australian actress Natasha Bassett will play the megastar.
The two-hour "tumultuous true" story follows Britney's rise to fame and everything that came after it: her relationships, her parents' divorce, her music, her children, and so on. It'll be the second documentary to focus on all things Britney, following 2013's I Am Britney Jean.
Producers at Asylum Entertainment are planning a February 2017 release. Rest assured the real-life Britney will achieve plenty of Glory — her ninth record, due out Friday — in the meantime.
