Chris Hemsworth And Tom Hiddleston Bring Thor And Loki To A Children’s Hospital

Today in news that’s sure to make your small, dessicated heart grow several sizes at once

Thor and Loki may not always get along, but if there’s one thing that can unite the Asgardian brothers, it’s bringing smiles to tiny faces.

Fresh off the set of Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, paid a visit to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on Tuesday (August 23). During their stop, Hemsworth and Hiddleston — dressed in character, though not in their iconic super-suits — took photos with their young fans, signed autographs, and even answered questions in character for one Marvel superfan.

“‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor!’ (i.e. everyone but the weirdo in the black suit),” Hiddleston posted on Instagram along with a photo of him and Hemsworth proudly watching as two children claim Mjölnir as their own. (It’s rather unusual to see Loki this happy.)

It’s always nice when Hollywood’s finest can take time out of their schedules to put smiles on children’s faces at local hospitals. “Met the real superheroes of the world ... A huge shout out to all the brave kids who are an inspiration to all of us!” Hemsworth captioned an Instagram photo with one brave kid handily defeating Loki.

A lucky 11-year-old named Koen even got to interview the Marvel gods for a Q&A session with Juiced TV, a television program made by kids in hospital for kids in hospital. When young Koen asked the duo what it’s like playing a superhero and supervillain on the big screen, Hemsworth took the opportunity to take a jab at his movie brother.

“It’s very cool, especially when I face this particular supervillain,” he said, pointing at Hiddleston. “He’s very mischievous. He’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeves.”

As if that wasn’t enough to make our hearts melt, Hemsworth returned to the hospital on Wednesday to visit the kids and families who didn’t get a chance to meet Thor the previous night. He may not have been in costume, but judging from this child’s smile, that didn’t seem to matter.

That’s all for today in news that made our small, dessicated hearts grow several hundred sizes at once. Until next time, Thor.
