Britney Spears Is Raising Money For Louisiana In The Aftermath Of Huge Floods

Britney is calling on her fans to help rebuild her home state

Britney Spears is rallying her fans to help Louisiana in the wake of massively destructive floods.

Earlier this month, historic flooding forced tens of thousands of Louisiana residents out of their homes. An estimated 110,000 residences have been damaged, and over 20,000 people have been rescued from their homes over the past two weeks. According to the Red Cross, the flooding is the worst natural disaster in the United States since Hurricane Sandy.

Britney grew up in Kentwood (a town just south of the Mississippi border), so the tragedy hits especially close to home for her. She's teamed up with the Red Cross to support victims of the floods — and because she has a VMAs performance coming up, she's offered a special incentive to donate to rescue and rebuilding efforts.

Each $10 donation to the Red Cross to help Louisiana will give you the chance to win either a trip to the VMAs or the outfit Britney will wear during her performance. That's a pretty big perk for doing something good for an especially vulnerable community.
