Certain Teen Wolf supernaturals are known to let out a few howls — and now, some of the stars from the long-running series are using the trademark animal sound for a great reason.
The #Howl4ACure campaign, which is currently active across social media with a bunch of Beacon Hills' finest supporting it, is encouraging everyone to share their best howl along with the aforementioned hashtag to help spread awareness about cystic fibrosis and support the work being done by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (an explainer video is featured above).
Then the TW cast — including Holland Roden, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Ryan Kelley, Ian Bohen, and JR Bourne — will celebrate the campaign on September 7 with an interactive free live stream with games, special guests, and surprises (!!) on a new app called Bidchat. The broadcast will be available in the U.S. on the mobile app and worldwide on the web platform. Viewers can also bid for windows of time to interact with the cast live in split-screen — and proceeds from the winning bids and direct donations in the app will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
A bit of background about this specific cause and why it's personal for the TW crew: JR's niece Madison was born with the genetic disease 17 years ago, and the actor has long been a champion of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Soon after landing the role of Chris Argent, his activism began to evolve in a different, but fantastic, direction.
"When I started doing conventions for the show, I realized it was an amazing platform for discussing the disease and raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation," JR told MTV News. "The fans went above and beyond to show their love and support."
Looking forward, what do the thespians want participants to take away from #Howl4ACure?
"We hope people learn something about the disease and how organizations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation really are essential to advancements in medical science," Charlie explained. "And when you show love towards one community and lend your support, you’re really sending out a much larger message to the world. So I also hope that this #Howl4ACure campaign inspires others to take action on the causes they care about."
And now, the howling. Before you upload your submission, here are some helpful tips from the twins.
"It’s got to start from the feet and shoot all the way up," Charlie disclosed, while adding "it’s a full-body experience."
Max's take? "A howl is an expression of the self. You do you. Howl like nobody’s watching."
With that, upload your howl clips now and use #Howl4ACure, then be sure to participate in the September 7 extravaganza! And for an added TW bonus, check out the trailer for the final season below!
