8 Things We Learned During Lauren Conrad's 'Hills' Anniversary Special

Those never-before-seen clips!

Lauren Conrad just made her triumphant return to MTV (iconic driving opening scene from the inaugural installment and all!) while commemorating the recent 10th anniversary of the Hills -- the first time she has been on the network since celebrating the series' final episode back in 2010 with her erstwhile cast members (remember that party?). And, as promised, the fashion maven delivered some of the show’s best-kept secrets. Like her former small-screen cohort Justin Bobby poignantly declared, "Truth and time tells all."

In honor of The Hills: That Was Then, This is Now take a look at eight things we learned during tonight's program -- and be sure to share your favorite Hills memory in the comments!

"Can we please be done?"

brody

Our girl was feeling a bit awkward smooching Brody Jenner during that unforgettable Season 2 balcony scene -- and as some BTS footage reveals, she couldn't help but express her discomfort post-kiss with those five pleading words to the crew. She later admitted that the two had "zero" chemistry and were just friends.

Lauren's mother Kathy has all of her daughter's magazine covers on the walls in the family's Laguna Beach home. Proud parent, indeed!

No surprises for the folks

During her MTV tenure, the now-30-year-old made sure to inform her mom and dad Jim about incidents that would unfold on the program. "Hot tip: If you're gonna be on reality television, tell your parents stuff," she added during a candid discussion with the Conrad clan and Hills director Jason Sands.

More to that Jason breakup

The entire emotional exchange wasn't featured in the Season 2 premiere (the conversation that made air is above) -- and Lauren explains that she knew her former boyfriend wasn't sober during their tense meet-up. "I think that just really broke me because I felt a responsibility to take care of him, and I felt like when we broke up, I was abandoning him," she stated. Meanwhile, Jim and Kathy admitted that they had a "little party" when their eldest ended that romance.

A Kardashian cameo

kim

It's Kim! Lauren may have skipped Speidi's housewarming party, but the woman who would one day be Mrs. West attended (and we have the never-before-seen video to prove it).

Post-"You Know What You Did"

The scene from Frankie's birthday requires little set-up -- and after walking away from Heidi, Lauren could not hide her frustration. "MTV should care what Spencer did to me," Lauren said during a previously unreleased audio segment -- which she watched during a sit-down with her former producer Sophia Rossi. "It's not okay that they let him up here," she added while crying.

Husband William Tell has NEVER seen The Hills

But when he was watching TV one day, William did stumble upon his wife during her televised tenure. "Of all scenes for him to pick, it was us in a club and I'm saying, 'I'm at the Roosevelt every Saturday," she divulged. "William was like, 'Nope!' and just changed the channel."

Would Lauren take the same leap twice?

The answer: Yes! "Knowing what I know now, looking back, I would absolutely do it again," she stated. "It brought so much good to my life. While it was hard at times, it brought me to a place where I'm really happy."
