Lea Michele’s Latest Magazine Cover Honors Cory Monteith With One Simple Word

The ‘Glee’ star revealed another tattoo honoring her quarterback

Lea Michele shared her nude cover pics for Women’s Health U.K.’s “Naked Issue” on Sunday (July 31), but that’s actually not what the internet is focusing on this morning. Instead, via Refinery 29, people are chattering about the “Finn” tattoo she revealed on her lower body — a clear homage to her former costar and boyfriend, the late Cory Monteith. While the tattoo seems to be a new one, Michele tweeted she actually got it in December 2011.

Known for his role as quarterback turned glee club singer Finn Hudson on Glee, Monteith died of a drug overdose in 2013, but will be permanently remembered by Michele via the tattoo, which channels her Glee character Rachel Berry’s similar "Finn" tattoo she got after Finn died. It’s a heartbreakingly sweet example of life imitating art.

This isn’t the only Monteith-inspired tattoo Michele’s gotten to honor her late boyfriend. In November 2013, she tattooed her ribcage with Monteith’s last words: “If you say so.” Earlier this year, she shared her tattoo of the number 5, representing Finn’s jersey number on Glee.
