Good news, pop music lovers: JoJo’s comeback is picking up speed. After releasing a stellar “tringle” of new songs last fall, dropping a four-track EP, and gifting us with the occasional new music video and feature credit, the singer’s decade-in-the-making third album appears to be nearing completion.
A new teaser video for the project shows us home movie footage of JoJo performing as a little girl, while she reflects in voice-over about what music means to her. “Everything starts with music for me. It’s been the most consistent thing in my life,” she says. “I don’t have a schtick, I don’t have an angle. It’s just me and my music. It’s time.”
The video also includes a snippet of a new track: a pretty piano ballad with the soaring chorus, “Tell me who, who would I be without you?” Ultimately, the minute-long teaser is a moving reminder that at just 25 years old, JoJo’s been in this game for a long time ... but she still has so much more to show us.
