Catfish Twist: Someone Is Posing As Nev Schulman

OH, THE IRONY

Nev Schulman is more than familiar with frauds impersonating other folks in the digital space — who could forget Dee Pimpin posing as rapper Bow Wow? And now the Catfish co-host just discovered someone is claiming to be him and making it seem like he is trying to gather answers while working hard to shoot an installment of the MTV series.

"ATTENTION! For the past 2 weeks I have been getting lots of tweets and DM's from people who have received a text message from someone pretending to be me," the daddy-to-be captioned the Facebook photo above featuring the bizarre text messages.

He continued: "Ironic, isn't it? Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know it isn't me texting you (sorry) and that you should watch out and probably best to delete/block the number. #DontSendNudes"

Well said, Nev — and word to this guy/gal: STOP!

Be sure to catch Mr. Schulman as well as co-host Max Joseph as they help a whole new batch of love hopefuls on this upcoming season of Catfish, premiering with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, August 10! In the meantime, check out what's in store for the digital detectives in the trailer below.
