Regina Spektor Kicks Off Her Comeback With An Expectedly Quirky New Song

‘Bleeding Heart’ is the first single from her upcoming seventh album

Regina Spektor fans, your bleeding heart bleeds no more — the singer is finally back with brand new material. And no, this isn’t just a one-off song like Orange Is the New Black’s “You’ve Got Time” ... this is the beginning of a new era for the singer-songwriter who’s blessed us with “Fidelity,” “On the Radio,” and, now, “Bleeding Heart.”

The new single is the first taste of Spektor’s upcoming seventh studio album, Remember Us to Life, her first since 2012’s What We Saw From the Cheap Seats. “Bleeding Heart,” is a bit of a sonic roller coaster, beginning as an upbeat pop song, veering briefly into drum-filled rock, and ending with Spektor’s signature piano balladry. And, of course, it’s filled with Spektor’s trademark quirky, imaginative lyrics. Verdict: It was well worth the wait.

Remember Us to Life arrives September 30. See the LP’s artwork below:
