One Of The NBA's Best Players Turned His Left Leg Into A 2Pac Shrine

One of basketball's best tattooed himself with one of rap's best

Kevin Durant recently broke down what it's like to have some of his favorite rappers — from Drake to J. Cole to Wale — shout him out in songs. There's at least one MC he holds in high regard who never mentioned him in lyrics, though: 2Pac.

Of course, KD was only 7 years old when Pac was shot and killed in 1996. But that hasn't seemed to get in the way of the former NBA MVP's admiration for the rap legend. The proof: a large tattoo of the late rapper's face up Durant's lower leg.

The tattoo comes just a few weeks after Durant surprised many fans and NBA peers with his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and sign with the Golden State Warriors in free agency. Maybe this tattoo, given the often-polarizing figure Pac was and the waves of hate that KD has received following his decision, is a response to that. Maybe he got it because, like Pac, he is now a DMV-raised West Coast transplant.

Or, maybe, like so many, he just loves 2Pac.
