Rihanna Honored Victims Of The Nice Attack With A Glowing Performance Of ‘Diamonds’

‘I want you to help me light this building up’

While performing in Lyon, France, on Tuesday night, Rihanna transformed her Anti World Tour stage into a giant French flag to honor the victims of last week’s deadly attack in Nice.

“This next song, I’m going to dedicate to the people in Nice who have suffered, the people who have been traumatized, the victims and their families,” she told the crowd from the middle of the blue, white, and red stage. “I want you to help me light this building up.”

Rih then launched into her shimmering 2012 hit “Diamonds” while the crowd held up phones and lighters, illuminating the stadium with a beautiful glow.

After the show, Rihanna posted a photo of the stage to her Instagram, writing, “I'm so fortunate to have had this experience with you tonight!!! Y'all are incredibly dedicated and I cherish each of you.”

Rihanna was originally scheduled to play in Nice last Friday, but canceled her show in light of the attack, which left 84 people dead and injured more than 200 others.
