"Ain't no bitches gonna bust no ghosts." That's just one of the many sexist YouTube comments directed at Erin (Kristen Wiig) and Abby (Melissa McCarthy) in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters. And in many ways, it reflects the kind of fan ire that's been aimed at the film since it was announced in 2014.

The reaction to the film’s very existence has been overwhelmingly negative from the jump. Some fans (mostly men) are even boycotting the film out of fear it will ruin their idyllic childhoods. Of course, these are the same Ghostbros who helped the Ghostbusters trailer become the most disliked YouTube trailer of all time. Yes, they hate a movie they haven't even seen.
