The eldest Stark sister didn't receive an Emmy nomination, while her female costars Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, and Maisie Williams did — and fans are not having it. Sansa's reign during Season 6 was much appreciated after her brutal rape last season, and after years of watching Sansa get the short end of the stick, she finally owned Westeros and kicked some serious ass this season.
She was a major reason the Starks took back Winterfell from the heinous Boltons and she managed to turn Ramsay into precious dog food. Sansa took on the patriarchy and the patriarchy said, "Whoaaa, what is happening?!"
Which is why Sophie's fans on Twitter have taken to saying she was "robbed" and "screwed" and that an "actual goddess" such as herself who was completely "badass" during Season 6 should've been nominated because of how she's "proven herself to the world."
As Sansa made it crystal clear to the men of Westeros (especially Littlefinger), she was indeed a force to be reckoned with. Turner's evolution as Sansa — from a naïve, lovestruck teen to an empowering woman who gives zero fucks and takes no shit — is awe-inspiring. That's what we love about her. So, maybe next year?
