Fresh off her appearance at Monday’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors, where she performed in tribute to Missy Elliott, Nelly Furtado has dropped a new track, “Behind Your Back.”

The funky song finds Furtado gossiping about an ex, but in a yearning, not malicious, way. “It’s nothing bad / It’s all I have / It’s just a chance to say your name / Baby, it’s nothing bad,” she promises over a deep groove.

Following the song’s release, Furtado tweeted that “Behind Your Back” won’t be on her upcoming sixth album, her first since 2012’s The Spirit Indestructible. Instead, she calls it “a palette cleanse” and “an appetizer” for what’s to come. Consider us hungry for more.
