Nearly nine years after Kanye West’s mother passed away, he’s paid tribute to her with a message that includes a heartbreaking wish from his 3-year-old daughter, North.

On what would have been Donda West’s 67th birthday on June 12, Kanye tweeted in all caps, “Nori asked if the airplane could take her to heaven to see you for your birthday, I love you mom.”

Donda West passed away in November 2007 at age 58, following complications from cosmetic surgery. Kanye’s since tributed her with the poignant track “Only One,” in which Kanye speaks to Nori from his mom’s perspective. At his Yeezy Season 3/The Life of Pablo premiere event in February, he also debuted the Donda-inspired trailer for his upcoming Only One video game, which features an animated version of his mom arriving at heaven’s gates.
