Jennifer Aniston holds nothing back in a powerful essay titled "For The Record" on Huffington Post, published Tuesday afternoon. She begins by addressing those pesky is-she-or-isn't-she pregnancy rumors, then dives right into why those rumors are so problematic.

"The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing," she explains. "We use celebrity ‘news’ to perpetuate this dehumanizing view of females, focused solely on one’s physical appearance, which tabloids turn into a sporting event of speculation. Is she pregnant? Is she eating too much? Has she let herself go?"

Aniston doesn't use social media, so her HuffPost blog gives her the platform to speak up about these important issues. But this is the first time she's posted anything since 2011, so the "insane tabloid ritual," as she calls it, must've reached a breaking point for her.

"I used to tell myself that tabloids were like comic books, not to be taken seriously," she continues, "just a soap opera for people to follow when they need a distraction. But I really can’t tell myself that anymore because the reality is the stalking and objectification I’ve experienced first-hand, going on decades now, reflects the warped way we calculate a woman’s worth."

She goes on to explain that getting married or having children aren't necessarily markers of a successful woman. You don't need a "mate" or a child to feel "complete," she writes: "We get to determine our own ‘happily ever after' for ourselves."

Now that's a fairy tale ending we can all get behind.
