Drake And Rihanna Pay Tribute To Young ‘Angel’ Who Died Of Cancer

Megan Flores met the stars through the Make-A-Wish foundation earlier this year

Drake and Rihanna have paid tribute to a young fan who died Saturday (July 9) following a battle with cancer.

Megan Flores had befriended the two musicians after meeting them via the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Drake later dedicated his album Views to her, writing in the credits, "This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores. I pray for your wellbeing every day."

After learning of Flores’s passing, Drake posted a heartfelt tribute to her memory on Instagram: "Rest in peace my angel. I know heaven is celebrating today. Thank you for the moments and emotions we share I am blessed to have known you in this lifetime."

Rihanna also honored Flores with a note on Instagram: "It's heavy news that I can't slide in your DMs anymore like I used to!! There was always a smile waiting for me there! You brightened any day! Rest up baby girl!"

Flores first met Drake in March when her cancer stopped responding to treatment. He was her favorite artist, and she proudly wore a Take Care T-shirt to their meeting. Both Drake and Rihanna kept in touch with the young fan for months after meeting her in person, offering encouragement and friendship right up until the end of her struggle.
