Spice Girls Are Coming Back, But Not The Way You (Really, Really) Want Them To

Two members of the group are conspicuously absent from their reunion

The Spice Girls are regrouping for a special summer reunion event — or at least most of them are.

In a new video, three-fifths of the English girl group tease some kind of reunion show in honor of the 20th anniversary of their debut single, “Wannabe.” Mel B, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell all appear super stoked to get back onstage, though Victoria Beckham and Mel C are conspicuously absent.

“You’ve stood by us for 20 years, and we want to say a big thank you,” Halliwell says in the clip.

The video was published on a new YouTube channel called Spice Girls — GEM, which presumably is the official name of the three-piece version of the group (the acronym seems to stand for Geri, Emma, and Mel).

Posh and Sporty might not be around for this incarnation of the group, but 60 percent of the original lineup is still a pretty decent turnout.
