Watch Schoolboy Q Debut A New ‘THat Part’ Verse On Colbert

But no Kanye

It's becoming a TDE tradition: Take center stage during a live televised performance of a song, and debut a new verse.

Kendrick Lamar has done it multiple times, including during Sunday's BET Awards performance of "Freedom" with Beyoncé, and now Schoolboy Q is grabbing the baton. During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night, Q delivered a previously unheard verse for his single "THat Part."

The performance started with a few bars from his prior release, "Groovy Tony," before shifting into "THat Part," which features Kanye West, though 'Ye was not in the house for this performance. Instead of a guest verse from 'Ye, though, we got a new one from Q, who bragged, "Made a mil then I spent it in the same day," before reminding us that, "Your favorite artist, I'm his big homie" (he means Kendrick, BTW).

Oh, and if you're wondering about what else could be in store for TDE this year? "Heard Soulo coming up next / And SZA got a classic / I heard Zay just got it mastered," he rapped, referencing Ab-Soul, SZA, and Isaiah Rashad.

Really next up, though, is Q, whose Blank Face LP drops on July 8.
