Never, Ever Ask Dylan Sprouse This Question

‘Unless I'm doing something bigger and better than what I've previously done, people deem it regressive’

You know that feeling when you're at a family dinner and your obnoxious aunt interrogates you with questions like, "What are you doing after graduation?" or "Do you have a job yet?" or "Do you have a boyfriend?" Yeah, I'm guessing that's how Disney Channel alum Dylan Sprouse feels whenever a fan asks him his least favorite question: "What are you doing now?"

"Am I not doing anything?" Sprouse wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption Monday, one week after deleting all his Insta pics à la Taylor Swift post-breakup. "I want to say ‘I'm enjoying myself by relaxing, traveling, consuming media, and continuing to learn' but the truth is that unless I'm doing something bigger and better than what I've previously done, people deem it regressive."

"The project that I do next needs to be good or the character needs to be something different from what I've done before, so for now I'm just auditioning until that kind of thing comes along," he continued. (His new Brooklyn brewery surely fits that "something different" bill.)

Dylan also weighed in on how his twin brother and Suite Life partner-in-crime, Cole, might feel about this loaded question. A raven-haired Cole will soon star in The CW's hotly anticipated Riverdale, but that doesn't mean the pressure's off him, either.

"I think about how people want conflict between us," Dylan explained. "They ask, ‘Where's your brother? Is HE still acting?' And I recite, ‘Yup, he's gunna [sic] be in Vancouver soon doing a project.' Then we take a snapchat [sic] pic and I don't tell them that Cole probably wants to say ‘nothing' as badly as I do."
