Calvin Harris just keeps on churning out the soundtrack to your summer.
Weeks after debuting “This Is What You Came For” with Rihanna, the Scottish producer has dropped another surprise single. This one’s called “Hype” and it features vocals from English rapper Dizzee Rascal.
Like the title suggests, the new song flies off its own hinges right out of the gate. “TIWYC” showed a more meditative side of Harris’s production style, but “Hype” sees him embracing his most playful, colorful instincts. The bass is thick and the breakdowns are squeaky-clean — what more could you ask for?
“Hype” didn’t come with a guerilla marketing campaign from Harris’s ex Taylor Swift, but it doesn’t seem like he needs it anymore.
