To refresh your memory, the besties were hatching eggs in 2008's "iHatch Chicks" episode. [Note: Nickelodeon and MTV News are both owned by Viacom.] The eggs ended up hatching way earlier than they expected, and six baby chicks -- appropriately named Yoko, Huevo, Shelly, Omelet, Poachy, and Benedict -- escaped into the Shays's apartment. Uh-oh. The girls promptly recruited big bro Spencer (Jerry Trainor) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) to help them find the rogue chicks. They found all but one.
Spencer was so dedicated to the rescue mission that he somehow got his head stuck in a heating duct. Just his luck, the final stray chick wandered into the same tunnel... and then it wandered into his mouth. Nom?
The chick then hitched a ride inside Spencer's mouth as he freed himself, and when he got back on two feet inside the apartment, he coughed up the fur ball like it was no big deal.
So how'd this ridiculousness actually go down during filming? A fan on Twitter needed to know: "Did you really have a live baby chick in your mouth on iCarly? Please settle this argument for me!"
To which Trainor responded:
There you have it, folks. No live chicks were consumed during the making of iCarly.
