13 Playhouse Disney Lies You Fell For As A Kid

The main one being that growing up is fun

Saturday mornings may have had cartoons, but Mondays through Fridays had their own share of childhood entertainment. Before being relaunched as Disney Junior in 2011, Disney Channel's preschool and early elementary shows were part of Playhouse Disney.

For a lot of '90s kids, Playhouse Disney holds a dear spot in our hearts — except it shouldn't, since the shows constantly told lies to impressionable children, and we all fell for them, hook, line, and sinker.

  1. Building a clubhouse out of boxes does not get you a fancy, spacious clubhouse with air conditioning and a slide.

  2. And pictures do not, in fact, come alive.

  3. Doing the "Noodle Dance" doesn't actually solve your problems.
    Disney

Thanks for getting me kicked out of Costco, PB&J Otter.

  4. There is no such thing as The Great Big Book of Everything.
    Disney

If I wanna learn something, I have to go to Google and don't always find what I'm looking for. Also, my pets never talked to me.

  5. Bears actually do not live in big blue houses.
    Disney
  6. And no matter how hard you wish, the moon will never, ever sing a goodbye song with you.
    Disney
  7. Shadows actually aren't their own entity.
    Disney

Even Peter Pan's shadow was still connected to Peter.

  8. Houses aren't alive, and they definitely don't blink.
    Disney

Also, asking a realtor for a house shaped like a teapot is apparently too "unusual" and "unrealistic" of a request.

  9. You can't go into a painting and then peace out like it's NBD.
    Disney

You can try, but all it'll do is make you look like an idiot at the Smithsonian (and get you tossed out by security).

  10. Jumping out of your friend's body is actually not a joyous occasion.
    Disney

It's creepy and unnatural and sounds like something that'd happen in an Eli Roth film.

  11. If you're the only person who can see a bunch of sprites, you need to get your head examined instead of just going with it.
    Disney
  12. Lions are not suitable pets for children.
    Disney

I don't care how many times you've seen The Lion King; Simba is not your friend.

  13. Four grown men wearing bright shirts and dancing in synchronization is actually not normal.
