Blake Lively Says The Third Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Won’t Be For Teens

There's still 'a strong chance' Sisterhood 3 is on the way!

The last time we heard any kind of update about a third Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, Amber Tambyln and America Ferrera said it was “actually very much in the works”... but that was way, way back in January 2015.

Thankfully, Blake Lively has taken a break from screaming at sharks to reassure us that a third film is in fact still happening. During an interview with SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio on Tuesday, Lively said, “The four of us are still best friends and to be able to create something together again has always been a dream of ours. But it would have to be something that really made sense. If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy.”

Beyond that promising tidbit, Lively teased some plot details about the threequel, because she’s full of valuable gossip. (You know you love her. XOXO.) She said she’d definitely be reprising her role as Bridget (the Sporty Spice of the sisterhood), and that the story wouldn’t be as teen-centric. Rather, they want to cater to the audience who grew up with the original 2005 film and its 2008 sequel.

“We wouldn't be making a movie for 16-year-olds again,” Lively explained. “We would be making a movie trusting that our audience grew up with us. I think that would be really interesting to explore.”

You’re right, Blake! It would be interesting! SO VERY INTERESTING! How about you run, don’t walk, to Hollywood and make it happen ASAP.
