Bella Thorne got way, way honest on Twitter and Snapchat last Sunday, June 12, while preparing for her colonoscopy on Monday.
During this medical procedure -- and there's no graceful way to say this -- a doctor sticks a tube up your butt to check out the colon (large intestine) and rectum. If there's a lot of poop hanging around, the doctor can't see anything, so patients need to empty out their colon (read: "shit their brains out") beforehand.
This process requires drinking literally gallons of a gross-tasting liquid medication, then pooping it out. It's kinda like having nonstop diarrhea for a solid 24 to 48 hours.
Fun stuff, right? Fortunately, the Shake It Up! star kept her spirits up by live-tweeting and Snapchatting "shitty" jokes.
Thorne, who's only 18, didn't explain why she needed a colonoscopy, as it's typically done on older adults. Doctors use the procedure to find and diagnose scary things like inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, polyps, and cancers. Still, Thorne is all smiles at the hospital.
You're the real MVP, Bella. Feel better soon!
