Charli XCX Sang Backup For JoJo During ‘Leave (Get Out)’ Just Like We Would

Watch their fiery, dance-filled performances at L.A. Pride

During what turned out to be a tragic weekend for the LGBTQ community in the U.S., Charli XCX helped bring a rainbow of joy to L.A. Pride on Saturday night.

The “Vroom Vroom” singer performed a headlining set at the annual festival in West Hollywood, teasing before the show that she planned to bring out some “special guests.” First up was Rita Ora, who joined Charli to perform their 2015 hit “Doing It.” The Brit babes danced and twerked away onstage; Charli flipped her waist-length high ponytail and Rita wrapped her leg around Charli, forcing her to crack up mid-song.

The second guest star to take the stage was JoJo, who threw it back to 2004 to perform “Leave (Get Out)” while Charli assisted with backup vocals.

JoJo then belted her hit “When Love Hurts” before transitioning into a cover of Sylvester’s dance-friendly “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).” At one point, she twirled so much that she nearly fell off the stage, but hey, it’s just a testament to getting deliriously lost in the music, right?!

Following her performance, JoJo thanked Charli for sharing the stage with her and shared a sweet backstage snap of them.

Charli later called the evening “inspirational,” praising the love and power of the entire LGBTQ community.
