Teen Mom 2 Face-Off: Can Jenelle And Nathan Avoid Court And Settle In Mediation?

Kaiser's parents had a contentious sit-down with Dr. Drew during tonight's reunion special

Jenelle and Nathan only had one tense face-to-face meeting to discuss their son Kaiser over the course of this Teen Mom 2 installment -- but during tonight's reunion special, the former couple had a contentious sit-down with host Dr. Drew. Now will they be able to settle their differences in mediation -- or will they be faced with court appearances?

Before we get to the aforementioned questions, the duo rehashed the past few months to the addiction specialist. While both admitted that they had moved on from their up-and-down relationship (and Dr. Drew expressed his delight that they had parted ways), Jenelle and Nathan had bones to pick about certain incidents that unfolded during Season 7. First up: Nathan showing up at her house while ex-boyfriend Kieffer Delp was at the premises.

"He climbs into my bathroom window at 4 a.m. and bursts into my bedroom -- after he moved out," the mother of two explained about the non-televised scenario, while Nathan argued that he was still on the lease.

Next, they clashed about Nathan purchasing necessary items for his boy (a portion of the heated exchange is featured below). Nathan claimed he had bought a car seat; however, Jenelle didn't believe it -- nor did she think he had a high chair, sippy cups or proper food. But Nathan took it a step further: He exclaimed his child is in an "unstable environment with two drug addicts," while Jenelle denied his statement.

Dr. Drew steered the candid chat back toward the toddler's future -- and their next steps toward reaching a co-parenting agreement.

"We were supposed to do mediation, but his lawyer wants to skip that and go straight to court," Jenelle stated. "And I was like, 'No, we can do mediation first.'"

While both Jenelle and Nathan expressed that they want to work something out for the sake of their son, the road to reach that settlement will no doubt be a challenge. Can they avoid facing a judge and work together outside of a court room? Or are legal proceedings in their future?
