Sophie Turner is having a moment. In the middle of a game-changing season of Game of Thrones for her character Sansa Stark, the 20-year-old English actress is also starring in X-Men: Apocalypse as teenage Jean Grey, a beloved Marvel mutant. If you've been keeping a tally, that's a leading role on the biggest show on television and a breakthrough part in a bona-fide summer blockbuster.
However, this effervescent starlet isn't just a remarkable talent; she's endlessly relatable and completely hilarious -- and we couldn't love her more for it. She's 100 percent in control of her own crazy "celebrity" narrative. So, on the eve of her major career milestone, let's take a look back at some of Turner's most relatable, DGAF moments.
She wants to see Sansa and Arya get it on, and she DGAF who knows it.HBO
Speaking to EW, Turner admitted that she'd like to see Sansa "swing the other way" and date women, particularly her little sister Arya. (Incest is not out of the realm of possibility on this show!) "Or [Sansa could hook up with] Arya — because I'd like to see that happen," she joked. "I'd love a love scene between Arya and Sansa."
We're sure her IRL best friend Maisie Williams (Arya) would love one too. After all, they haven't filmed Game of Thrones together since Season 1.
She became the Queen Of [Making That Pussy] Pop.
On the set of X-Men: Apocalypse, Turner wrote an original song, called "I'm Gonna Make Your Pussy Pop" to sing for James McAvoy. Repeatedly. She's truly a multi-hyphenated star!
She said what we're all thinking about Donald Trump.
When asked whose mind she'd like to control for a day, her immediate response was Donald Trump. "I'd control him to go on a plane and get out of America and go somewhere very far away, where no one will ever find you." Wow. She can read our minds!
Even her self-deprecation is charming.
"This is going to be the worst X-Men so far, because I'm in it," she told InStyle. Honestly, Soph, we couldn't disagree more! Jean Grey is one of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history -- no pressure or anything -- and we think you'll be just fine. And if not: fuck it. It's just a movie.
She had zero chill when she met one of her idols: Steve Carell.
"Anchorman is my favorite movie in the world," she told GQ, recounting the story of when she met Carell at the SAG Awards. "I was yelling, like, 'I love lamp!' and waiting for him to reply." No Chill Turner is our new favorite Turner.
She put Kit Harington on blast for staring at himself in the mirror a little too frequently.Getty Images
Turner has no qualms spilling he co-stars' red carpet secrets. In fact, she once told GQ all about Kit Harington's odd habits. "He'll kill me for saying this, but if we're on the red carpet, I promise he'll stand in front of the mirror for hours," she said. "I've seen him do it. Even though he wakes up perfect, it's never good enough for him. He's gonna absolutely kill me."
Consider this payback for telling her you were really killed off the show for good, Harington.
She publicly shamed her parents for their no-wifi hours.
Where's that shame bell when you need it? Imagine visiting your parents for a couple of days only to discover that they had turned their wireless connection off. Sounds like the epitome of a hellscape, right? At least Turner was able to poke fun at the situation, later tweeting: "Imma light a candle," before posting a picture of Sansa Stark holding one. (She's got jokes!)
She's not ashamed to publicly admit that she pees herself "a little bit."
Just a little bit, though. She can (mostly) control her bladder.
She, too, has a thing for Ryan Gosling.
Having a crush on Ryan Gosling isn't unusual, but being in the Gos's presence at the SAG Awards? Well, that's anything but normal. Thankfully, our girl was able to play it cool at the fancy Hollywood event. Just kidding -- she totally freaked out and snapped this epic photo on the DL.
She calls an ugly dog an ugly dog... even when its name is Sansa.
Let's add "brutal honesty" to the list of things we love about her, OK? OK.
She's totally chill about getting punched in the vagina.
To be fair, it was Jennifer Lawrence doing the punching, so we guess we'd be cool with it, too. "She punched me in the vagina once," Turner told Just Jared. "I didn't even ask her either. It just happened."
What could have been an awkward moment on the X-Men set, however, turned into a hilarious running joke between friends. (As those situations typically do.) "Evan [Peters] and I were having a fake fight and I said something like, ‘I'll cunt punch you' or ‘I'll punch you in the crotch' and then Jen thought that I said, ‘Please cunt punch me, Jen.' So she punched me in the vagina, and I was like, ‘Awesome.' It was pretty funny." Bless you, Sophie Turner.
