Nick Jonas Gets Smooth As Hell While Covering Zara Larsson’s ‘Lush Life’

His BBC Live Lounge appearance was too dreamy to handle

Pack it up, spring -- summer has officially, unquestionably arrived. How do we know? Because Nick Jonas has decreed it by way of the smoothest, most summer-ready rendition of Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life.”

During his appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Thursday, Jonas delivered a falsetto-filled cover of the Swedish singer’s new tune that basically demands to be replayed all night, all summer.

After his performance, Jonas gushed about Larsson, saying, “I’m a big fan of what she’s been putting out, and her vibe is just great. ‘Never Forget’ is one of my favorite songs of this last year. And then ‘Lush Life’ just feels like something that I was able to kind of flip with my band; give it a different vibe and have some fun with it.”

Along with the cover, Jonas also performed a bluesy rendition of his latest single, “Close.” Even without Tove Lo’s contribution, he managed to make it sound sultry as all hell. Oh man, oh man, I am not really known for ever being speechless... but this one’s too dreamy to resist.

Jonas’s upcoming album Last Year Was Complicated drops June 10, so yes, summer '16 is the absolute best time to be a Nick Jonas fan.
